Career Progression

We are committed to making Barbour the most rewarding part of our employees’ careers. Our well-established apprenticeship and internship programmes, alongside dedicated learning and development, provide structured development opportunities at every stage. Through a comprehensive core curriculum, we equip our people with the skills they need to grow, whether through internal promotions or broader career pathways.

Diversity, Equity and an Inclusive Culture

Barbour has grown into a global enterprise with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds.

With the support of the Barbour Inclusion Network and our ongoing DE&I initiatives, we are dedicated to building a culture that promotes fairness, representation, and belonging, ensuring that Barbour remains a place where everyone feels valued, can thrive, and contribute to our shared success.

We partner with external organisations such as Business in the Community, are proud to be a Stonewall Champion, and engage with DE&I networking groups to support and strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Better Health at Work Award Silver Award

Health & Wellbeing

At Barbour, we are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our people and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. The Better Health at Work Award recognises the efforts of employers in the North East and Cumbria in addressing health issues within the workplace.

We are proud to have achieved the Better Health at Work Award – Silver Award in 2026, building on the Bronze award we received last year. This recognition reflects the continued progress of our wellbeing initiatives across the business, and we look forward to building on this as we work towards Gold next year.
